Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman holds the title of distinguished chair in psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is credited for starting contemporary research on children's memory of eyewitnesses and the role of children as victims within court settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer with numerous grants, and has was awarded various international and national awards. She has been consulted by numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policy guidelines and research related to child victims in the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center that was formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of several professional associations including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She is also a founding participant of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was head of the American Psychological Association's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child the Practice and Policy.
